Blue orange
“The Blue Orange” is a contemporary psychological drama based on a text by Joe Penhall, directed by Aleksandar
Ivanovski, produced by the “Jordan Hadzi Konstantinov – Dzinot” Theater – Veles. The play belongs to the
genre of psychological drama and deals with current and deeply sensitive topics related to mental health,
individual freedom and the limits of institutional power.
Childhood takes place in a psychiatric institution, where, through the intense relationship between patient and doctor, different views on normality, truth, and the right to personal choice clash. Through strong dramatic conflict, the play raises serious moral and ethical questions and engages the audience in a process of reflection and reexamination.
With a powerful acting performance and a minimalist, yet suggestive stage expression, "The Blue Orange" is among the most performed and most awarded plays of the Veles theater. The great interest from the audience and the numerous reruns confirm its artistic value and social relevance.
This is an image that provokes, opening up the dialogue-and it left a strong impression long after the end.
