Jordan Vitanov
Profession: Macedonian theatre and film actor and director
Jordan Vitanov lives and works in Veles, with family roots in the nearby villages of Grnchishte and Gorno Chichevo. He graduated in Acting from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Skopje in 1986. Since 1987, he has been a member of the ensemble of the National Theatre “Jordan Hadzi Konstantinov – Džinot” in Veles, where he also served as the theatre’s director for two terms (1999–2002 and 2006–2017). In addition to his theatre work, he has appeared in numerous feature films and television series, making a significant contribution to Macedonian theatre and film arts.

Theatrical Achievements
Jordan Vitanov is one of the most prominent actors on the Macedonian theatre scene, with a long and distinguished career. Among his most notable roles is the character Sodo Aramija in the play The Tavern on the Road to Europe by Janina Mirchevska, directed by Kole Angelovski, for which he received the Best Male Role award at the Vojdan Chernodrinski Theatre Festival in Prilep. He also received the Best Male Role award at the International Theatre Festival Bosporus Agon in Kerch, Ukraine, for his portrayal of Philoctetes in the eponymous play, directed by Meto Jovanovski. He has been honored with several other prestigious awards, including the 9th November Award from the Municipality of Veles, the Petre Prličko Award, and the Lifetime Achievement Award “Vojdan Chernodrinski”. In addition to his work at his home theatre, he has participated in numerous engagements with other theatre companies across the country.
