Iphigenia for Nothing
“Iphigenia for Nothing” is a contemporary drama with elements of physical and dance theatre, produced by the Drama Theatre – Skopje. The audience will have the opportunity to experience “Iphigenia for Nothing”, a contemporary adaptation of Euripides’ ancient tragedy.
The adaptation emphasizes Iphigenia’s death as a consequence not only of her father’s military ambitions but also of the broader mechanisms of political corruption and nationalist ideologies. The production employs fragmentation, dance, physical action, and the creation of visual imagery, with minimal narrative.
Iphigenia lives in a zone of discomfort, a body that refuses to stop moving, and her death becomes a symbol of the ways in which systems of power exploit human lives for personal and collective gain. She does not die for something, but for nothing, leaving a powerful emotional impact on the audience.
Note: The performance is not recommended for children under 16 years old.

Laughter from beginning to end.

Lots of emotions and a great atmosphere.
Congratulations to Isidor! An absolutely well-deserved award – his playing is extraordinary and inspiring.
Keep the tension until the very end.
Very emotional and powerful.
A modern and different interpretation.
A quiet but very strong drama.
